FUSE is an innovative capacitive current meter combining low noise, high bandwidth and wide linear range to measure currents ranging from femtoamperes to microamperes in milliseconds.
LOW NOISE
FUSE features extremely low noise, about equal to a single ideal 650 Gigaohm resistor. This results in noise current standard deviation as low as 2 femtoamperes for 20 milliseconds measuring time or 6.5 attoamperes for 10 minutes measuring time. 6.5 attoamperes are just 40 electrons per second.
LOW NOISE
WIDE LINEAR RANGE
Due to the capacitive operating principle, nine orders of magnitude larger currents up to microamperes can be measured using the same measurement range. This eliminates the need for slow measurement range switching and the resulting artifacts.
HIGH BANDWIDTH
Combining no range switching with a bandwidth from DC to 100 Hz, FUSE is able to follow currents that change quickly over several orders of magnitude.
HIGH BANDWIDTH
TRUE ZERO
Without any offset correction, the current offset of FUSE is already as low as 50 attoamperes, ensuring that measured currents are indeed a real signal.
